WinBox Version Archive: 64-bit, 32-bit & Old Versions

Some RouterOS devices — especially older hardware or boards running legacy RouterOS releases — behave more reliably with a matching older WinBox build. Compatibility issues such as blank menus, missing settings, or connection drops are the most common reason to roll back.

64-bit vs. 32-bit — Which Do You Need?

Build	Use when
winbox64.exe	Windows 64-bit (nearly all modern systems)
winbox.exe (32-bit)	Older Windows systems, or legacy compatibility testing

Both builds connect to the same RouterOS versions — the distinction is about your Windows system’s architecture, not the router’s.

How to Roll Back

1. Uninstall, or simply delete, the current WinBox .exe — it’s portable, so no formal uninstall is needed.
2. Download the specific version needed from the archive.
3. Run it as usual. WinBox does not require per-version installation, so multiple versions can coexist in different folders if needed for testing.
